Ever since my husband gifted me my first DSLR, back in 2008, taking photos has been my favorite way to find meaning in life. My version of a perfect weekend is going through our photo libraries with my girl, or the annual photo books I make (chai in hand), feeling nostalgic and thankful all in the same breath!
I live with my creative geek husband & our 8yo very-curious girl - in the pacific northwest near Seattle, WA in the US. Having grown up in Pakistan & living so far from my family, means that I have a serious case of nostalgia. You can probably see that in my photos sometimes, sigh.
MY WORK IS BASED in the Seattle eastside area: Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Issaquah and the surrounding areas. I'm also taking limited bookings for Islamabad, Pakistan now.
BESIDES TAKING PHOTOS I love to share what I know with others through mentoring + workshops. I also love turning photos into memorable books. More details here.
I also write about our multicultural life, motherhood, making memories & share inspiration/tips. <READ MY BLOG>
Taking emotive, happy photos of people that capture their fleeting time with their loves is my main muse. I love to document the big, photo-worthy moments, but even more so - all the little details that become blurry memories over time - the glances and the touches, those beautiful baby lashes, the curves of those little faces & pouty lips - the giggles & even the sad moments in between. I LOVE to capture the magic in ordinary moments and the little details in the big occasions. It makes my heart all kinds of happy to capture pieces of my amazing clients' stories in photos!
More than pretty photos, I want to take photos that are honest; ones that make you smile, that help you see how perfect your imperfect is - your life, your kids, your body, you. And my hope is that stays with you when you get photos done with me, or when you stop by my corners of the internet.. an appreciation of the ordinary every day and your own messy life.
I grew up with a photographer-daddy who documented our childhood in the most beautiful photos possible & my mom turned them into lovely photo albums that we still love going through. It was amazing! But I went to school for CS & only stumbled into photography totally unplanned (more of that story here). I have now been taking photos for families in the Seattle-area for 5+ years and have captured memories for hundreds of families.
From family photos, family reunions, newborns, maternity & recently headshots, portraits & branding sessions for small businesses, over the years I've loved doing it all. I also document a variety of events for families and more. Every year I get to capture a few weddings and even though I don't call myself a wedding photographer, I love it so very much!
Never for a second do I take this honor of being a witness to people's stories lightly:)
I believe in natural-looking, happy photos that tell your story.
I do my very best to keep a relaxed, fun vibe as we take those photos because I want the session to feel like some good family bonding time as well - I want you to remember the session like a happy memory when you look back at your photos. (get a feel of more 'behind the scenes' vibes here).
My style is modern & story-telling as I try to get photos that capture your connection with your families. I absolutely adore taking photos of children and trying to capture little pieces of their personalities. Being a mom myself, I completely believe ‘the days are long but the years are short’ and with that in mind, document your babies with a passion that is very personal.
Instead of posing, I direct you as needed and encourage engagement with each other to get those real, straight-from -the-heart emotions and hopefully smiles.

HERE ARE A FEW OF THE BENEFITS YOU GET RIGHT NOW
> I am a registered business with a business license from the City of Renton.
> Professional quality equipment including a full-frame back-up camera for un-unforeseen emergencies (life does happen!).
> I have invested in a color-calibrated laptop which provides superior color accuracy which means I am confident about the colors when I'm editing photos. ( colors can look different on every single machine and in print so without color calibration the photos you paid for may not look the same when you print them).
> I purchase membership for proofing + delivery websites so delivery of your photos is done in a beautiful, safe & convenient way.
> Thanks to my husband, I have very reliable backup systems in place to store photos. My sessions come with a promise to maintain a backup of your photos for at least a year (most likely I will have them for much longer than that). You can count on your photos being safe with me and being able to retrieve them after your session in case you lose them for any reason.
> I regularly invest in education and learning to get even better at my art, the quality of my photos as well as the experience of working with clients.
> After working for these years & building a name for myself, my client's satisfaction means everything to me! Even on the rare occasions where a client wasn’t satisfied with any part of their experience, I have made sure they leave happy. It makes me so excited that each single one of those clients have returned to me again & again for their photography needs after their experience.
> I have a membership with the very-popular-with-photographers Millers Lab for your printing needs & am able to order the best quality of prints & enlargements for you through them.
